The state natural biosphere reserve «Kedrovaya pad’»

The reserve, with the area of 17897 hectares, is located in Southern part of Primorye on mountain ridge spurs of the East - Manchurian range on Hasansky area territory of Primorsky region. Value of this territory has been recognized in 1916.                

The basic purpose of reserve creation is the preservation of this small territory as the monument of the wild nature. Vegetative communities of the reserve are rich and various on specific structure. In the valley spring wood there are colorful, motley carpets from ephemeras (an adonis amur, crested birds, wood kalujnitsa, wood spring poppy), on the slopes of Gakkelevsky ridge there are colorful bushes of a peaked rhododendron. Amur velvet, a hornbeam, eleoterokokus, elms, 6 kinds of maples also grow here. In May the rarest plants in Primorsky region blossom here: violet Rossa and violet Muldorfa.

The location in the south of the region, affinity to the sea, the dismembered relief, a high biological variety of reserved territory allows to compare « Kedrovaya pad’ » reserve with a rich botanical garden.

Natural sights of reserve, availability of territory for automobile and a railway transportation, presence of the experts cause an opportunity of the organization and carrying out on a part of the reserve territory various natural-ecological excursion routes.

«Kedrovaya pad’» is the unique reserve of Primorsky region where the Far East leopard constantly lives. The excursion route laid in the places of dwelling of this rare predator and including the review from a specific platform, allows estimating wild, but the fragile nature before the person. 

The big specific variety of wood and bush breeds and also botanical flora allows this reserve to develop the most perspective version of ecological tourism – scientific tourism. A photo and video shootings of educational films is one more side of the ecological education and tourist-excursion activity of reserve.

The boggy plain separating reserve from water area of Amur bay is a fine place for carrying out ornithological eco-routes.  

Taking into account the necessity of protection of many unique objects of the reserve flora and fauna, non-admission of  its inhabitants anxiety, - the intensity of carrying out the ecological excursion routes is defined by allowable recreational loadings on those or other sites of reserve.
